Looking Good: SurviveDAT.org Is All New

You know how you feel when you get a new outfit that you just know brings out all your best features?

That’s how we here at SurviveDAT and our partners at the Gulf States Young Breast Cancer Survivor Network are feeling these days. And it’s all because we have totally revamped our websites and think they are more attractive and easier to use. That said, however, what is most important is how you feel about these sites. They were built to help you and other young breast cancer survivors navigate the issues you face, which are often different from the issues older women with disease face, and which can range from questions about fertility and genetics to financial advice.

So please, take a few moments and check us out! Look through all the sections, including the categories you’ll probably find the most helpful: Expert Advice, Women Like You and Find Support. Expert Advice can help you learn about and get tips on topics that cover the range of what you may experience, from what actions you should take as soon as you are diagnosed to what you should do after your treatment is over. What’s more, it covers everything in between, including side effects and things that may not be so obvious, such as relationship advice and telling your children you have cancer.

In Women Like You, you’ll see and hear from women going through the same things you are - and then some. No one knows what you are experiencing like another survivor, so we hope these women can really help you. Moreover, most of them are from the Gulf States, so you may be surprised to realize how many young breast cancer survivors are out there - and not even that far from you.

And in Find Support, click on a category to find everything from your nearest support group to financial help. What may surprise you the most is just how much help there is out there for young breast cancer survivors!

Once you’re done looking, we’d love to hear from you. Feel free to contact us with any comments or suggestions. We can only get better with your input! And don’t forget to like and follow us our social media sites, which you can link to by clicking on the icons at the top of the page. We constantly post news and event information that is of special interest to young breast cancer survivors – and you never know what may pop up!

Louisiana's Young Breast Cancer Survivor Network

Young women with breast cancer face unique issues. And in the South, there are more young women overall facing breast cancer. In Louisiana, young African-American women are significantly more likely to suffer from breast cancer.

That is why SurviveDAT is here. Part of the Gulf States Young Breast Cancer Survivor Network, SurviveDAT's mission is to help improve the quality of life for young breast cancer survivors, as well as their family and friends, by providing continuing resources and support.
